A desk designed by preeminent architect Daniel H. Burnham (1846 -1912) is the inspiration for the Astor Street Home Office group furnitures. Created for use in Burnham's personal library at his home in Chicago, the desk is now part of the Smithsonian Castle Collection. The desk features neo-classical details such as reeded columns with acanthus leaf capitals.
